I think it’s ok with the compressor. But still use axel stands for safety just incase.
It’s the valve blocks that hold air in struts.

Thanks Pete
I’ll go with raised suspension and axle stands and remove the fuse.
Just want to change to the other compressor that I’ve rebuilt and I’ll do the valve blocks next week when I have the parts.
I’ll also fit the schraeder valves, so hopefully I have all the bases covered.

Fitted the rebuilt compressor which is significantly faster in operation.
I’m indebted to whoever came up with the slot in the bracket solution - thanks.
Rather surprised to find a substantial hole in one of the pipes, which I assume is on the inlet/exhaust side rather than the ‘inflation/compression’ side of the compressor as everything works.
I haven’t traced the pipe yet but assume it goes to here.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

Hiya
Blimey , looks like it’s rubbed against the handbrake cable , indeed the air inlet filter is placed inside the boot , behind the LH side panel , has 2 x pieces of foam inside the round canister
Enclosed a picture which I hope helps in showing the outlay , ur pipes being number 4 & 5 , looks like you will need to cut the pipe back, fit a pushfit coupling or maybe an elbow , then fit a short piece of tubing , have found sometimes its easier when fitting a short piece of pipe to do a loop , also fitting some conduit etc over the pipe to prevent it from happening again
Hope it helps and great the rebuilt compressor all works ok

Gary
thanks, just the info I needed and explains why the tooting volume has increased 10 fold.
It's line No. 4. The hole was hidden (protected?) by a bit of rubber hose.
I have some 8mm pipe and junctions so hopefully a quick fix tomorrow, along with drilling the sheared bolts from the one I'm now rebuilding.
Thanks

Late update on the way exhaust valve as photos.
Compressor now rebuilt and working. I now have a spare with me and am in Belgium heading to Morocco.
Gary, I was going to swing by, but timings didn’t allow.

Obviously couldn’t leave it there so rebuilt the 3 valve blocks and added front and rear schrader valves for remote inflation if (when) the compressor lets me down.
Front valve block
Rear valve block
Central valve block
Photos in after/before order for some reason.
Maybe of some use to someone and hopefully additional unions are not the source of additional leaks.
