When I had 1 x 18" [on front] and 3 x 20"s on after puncture, it would only change up to 4th max.
I had to 'command shift' up to 5th & 6th.
Seemingly the electronics detected a slightly different wheel/tyre radius between an 18" and 20" on the same axle and went into safe mode.
Anyhow, shouldn't be a problem if your having it sorted today.

Surely there was a case for leaving that advice accessible by some means, lets face it if the blagger has the keys he ain't going to just nick the wheels and if he IS he is surely going to take it somewhere where he can apply noise/power etc so they ARE going to come off with or without this forums help.Cheers

Probably easier to give in and just fit the damped rack - looks to be easier than getting that last 20" off!! Cheers

The hard bit will be drilling the in down the centre of the old stud - but I've used these successfully in the past for a 300TDi Discovery.
Also you might try to loosen the bolt by warmering and cooling the wheel/bolt rapidly immediately before undoing - obviously don't use a welding torch, but a 2Kw electric fan heater in front of it for a while will warm it considerably and then cool rapidly using cold water - not done this on a wheel before but have loosened other bolts using this technic in the past.LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.
Yep she drives fine no pulling or any obvious signs of a different size wheel even at 70mph. Latest is its in with Advanced Pitstop they have a few special adapters for getting these types of nuts off and feel confident they will succeed. I wont believe it however until I hear it!Googsy

Will that work as it is a nut onto a stud - will the whole stud unscrew?? Last wheel stud I saw out was pressed in from behind the hub so no possibility of unscrewing, intentionally or otherwise but don't know if this is common to all makes??Cheers

Get a big hammer and hit the key onto the remains of the nut
In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.
Main problem is with the 20 inch alloy is recessed . Also new type of locknut comes with an alloy head that breaks if tampered with this then makes it difficult to reach what remains of the nut underneath as this to is easily damaged.Googsy

Ok latest is they cant get it off using conventional means. Looks like that 20 is going to suffer as they are now going to attempt burning it off. I told proceed but they will be accountable for any damage! Googsy

dont burn it - drill down the stud, and replace it afterwards. At least you dont wreck the alloy. Even driving on the remaining 4 studs would be OK for a short while.
