the Disco paint was thin and not recommended for deep polishing. That finish looks great - so it looks like he was talking bo cks?

I asked a local 'detailer' about polishing out the bramble rash, but he was reluctant as he said the Disco paint was thin and not recommended for deep polishing. That finish looks great - so it looks like he was talking bo cks?
Only part that this is true is the tail gate upper & lower The rest has the industry standard thickness of dulux

Standard dulux depth of around 120um, where a heavy cut compound can be used no problems. The only issue and it's not a real issue is that the paint is soft (compared to VAG) and so can be corrected without too much aggression.
The soft paint is what allows the bramble rash to easily apprear of the car but relatively easy to remove. Your local 'detailer' ridgeback obvioulsy did not eaven inspect the car.
