No I don't believe the are detachable - will try and find out from the suppliers, but maybe BCB or AndrewS will confirm what theirs are like. LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

top bit of kit, 10% stretch - just enough to take the shock load out of the recovery, if you want/need a recovery rope, these are the Dog 's nuts Thumbs Up Have used these in a variety of situations and IMO they're far better than straps/strops

Difficult to guage from the photos what size the hooks are Iain. Therefore unsure if they would be too big for some front bumper mounted recovery points on D1s. I usually carry a variety of different sized shackles
