Due to a clerical error the message should have read the 8th of February 2009, the original message has now been correct.

RR08 you are not confusing the LRE event on 8th February with the disco3 organised event in Snowdonia on January 25th are you?
Your request does seem a little formal .....either you had a great time but didn't take a camera .....or something went wrong. Care to enlighten us ? Existential Phenomenologist.

We went along to the Landrover Experience Snowdonia forest drive on the 8th of February, we took with us a Range Rover Sport and a Discovery 3 both HSE's and both new vehicles.
Both our vehicles sustained considerable damage which cost us in excess of £5,000.00 to be repaired, the event was sold by LRE Snowdonia as being suitable for all types and experience of landrover drivers.
Our view is that the event was run dangerously and are very disappointed by the damage to our vehicles.

Ah, confusion lifted. As DG says above, we had an organized event there the Sunday before, not that weekend. S'pose someone might have been there on 8th Feb but most assumed you meant previous Sunday.

That sounds like a lot of damage...
What happened ?
As you probably saw from an earlier post, there was a recent disco3 event at the same place. 31 D3's took part. We did a varied amount of terrain. I got grounded on a tree stump ( ) that required a good wrench to get off but no damage. One other person got stuck on a tree at a different spot. Recovery was a bit iffy and there may have been some slight damage. Other than that, I'm not aware of anything else I wouldn't have said that I came up against any terrain that I was so concerned that I was going to do anything serious (and I am a beginner at this kind of thing).
I'm not discounting what you say or dismissing your concerns, disappointment and obvious frustration. Simply curious as to what happened.
Tree stump aside, the one place that (to me at least) had the most damage potential was a deep water crossing. But there were two options and the marshalls only let those with an RAI take the slightly deeper section. The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...
Club "yes, I too have had the EGR's replaced..."
Club "yes, I too have had the compressor replaced..."
Club "yes, I too once had the car at the dealer for a couple of weeks nearly 4 weeks over 4 weeks...5 weeks"
Club "yes, I too have had EPB failure..."
Club "yes, I too get mysterious bings and bongs..."

Actually i suppose it should be mentioned that another D3 did break a drive shaft and had to towed out and back down to Bala.
But seeing as that one belonged to LRE and it was an instructor driving it doesn't count...
Actually, neither does the prang that the LRE G4 got in the first 10 minutes... The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...

From memory, I think that was the week of bad weather, may well have been a very different experience with the snow "To finish first, one first has to finish ...."
