England 2010 Discovery 4 3.0 SDV6 XS Auto Ipanema SandDiscovery 4

And I think the only difference between :-

MY10:
3.0 (245bhp) badged as "3.0 TDV6" (what is now called the SDV6 engine)
and
MY11:
3.0 (245bhp) is badged as "SDV6"

is the DPF on the latter

BUT... I have owed both and the SDV6 seems much 'smoother'

Roy - your dealer is right.

As Ent said, the name change only happened "after MY10" or "from MY11 onwards" in other words.

MY10:
2.7 (190bhp) badged as "TDV6"
3.0 (245bhp) badged as "3.0 TDV6" (what is now called the SDV6 engine)

MY11:
2.7 (190bhp) was dropped
3.0 (211bhp) is badged as "TDV6"
3.0 (245bhp) is badged as "SDV6"

If yours was built in April 2010 then it is definitely a MY10 build which means that it has the same 245bhp engine as the MY11 SDV6 motors, but it is still badged as a TDV6.

Just out of interest (and to check my facts), is yours badged "TDV6" or "3.0 TDV6" ?

Cheers,
Paul

In the interestts of accuracy it would appear that in the current 2011 Model year the lower powered TDV6 is only available in the "Commercial" Version of the D4. Therefore the higher powered SDV6 is now Standard for all new D4's other than Commercial:

I am pretty sure you have the SDV6 engine.....

Problem is LR have farted about by starting to use the SDV6 badge (to early) on some cars when I think it was originally only meant as an engine designation for the higher powered models during transition.

It now appears to be the correct badging on latest models.

I think that confused the DVLA as much as everybody else.

I trust owners of the latest D4's are showing SDV6 on their V5's?
