Nope, come to a stop, engine cuts out, select neutral, apply park brake, release foot brake, engine starts, on this one anyway.

Re: Disable "Eco" Start/Stop via IIDTool?

Is it possible to set the Eco mode off by default using IIDTool? i'm getting sick of pressing so many buttons every time I start the car.
I've read it's possible to disable it by removing a battery terminal but i'd prefer to just default to off with the option of enabling it via the button if that's possible
We have looked at the basics for this one but it would require a bit more work to implement. We may revisit this feature and allow disabling if technically feasible in time but I cannot put a date of release.http://www.gap-diagnostic.com/

Only ever driven two D4's with Stop/Start, both restarted if I took the foot off the brake when in Neutral with the hand brake on, have posted a while ago that they did this and thought at the time it's a bit odd as it encourages warped discs.

That sounds like something to look forward too. And anyway of getting rid of the intrusive light on the dash showing it is turned off - the German cars I've had with the feature have had a less intrusive notification that it's been disable
BMWs can be coded so that Stop Start is disabled as the default. Never got round to doing that on my 1 series. Have to say that with all the cars we've had recently with stop start the first thing we do after start up is switch it off. Only occasionally switch it back on in particular traffic conditions.
Guess the only downside of switching it off on start up is that I'm not going to pick up if the feature is faulty on my 2016 D4.

First thing I did when I got my Carly diagnostic dongle. It does come back on when you go into eco mode, so is fully functional - can also be set to remember the last setting. But in my case that would always be off
I did try to like stop/start, but when it stops as you come to a halt to reverse into a parking spot or just as you come to a stop at a junction it had to be turned off.
That and I simply don't like the idea of the engine oil being asked to work so hard with all the frequent starts. The minor fuel saving is nothing compared to the cost of a new engine!Mark.

Found today by accident, press the brake pedal, engine stops (as it should) but I don't like sitting with my foot on the brake.
A: not good with the heat build up in the pads on to the disc.
Why is this bad? Does the contact between hot pad and disc cause disc warping? Or does the pad get too hot? Why would using the EPB be better?
The heat build up is concentrated in one place by using the foot brake when stationary, can cause the discs to warp, using the parking break which as not been used to bring you to a halt will be a lot cooler and is in contact evenly with the drum within the disc and not the disc itself.
Plus, is pee's me off sitting behind others with their foot on the brake, especially in the rain as it's getting dark.

Thanks for the info - makes sense! I'll use the park brake when stationary especially if there is another Discovery behind me in Bucks!
