As your saying goes: 'rubbish'
You were after a cheap point, almost certainly copied from somewhere else.
It's amazing to think that I had to copy it from a Hansard related source....what else would you anticipate...I write it myself?
The point he makes is perfectly valid and in context for any format of referendum.

As for 'valid for any referendum' can you not see there is a difference between stating concerns on what is decided beforehand on a referendum where there is no negotiation with a 3rd party required and one where there is?
As for Bregret, the biggest issue I and many on that side have is that we were told various things by BOTH Remain and Leave.
e.g. We WILL leave the Customs Union and leave the Single Market.
Unfortunately, Remainers hold the 2 major offices of State and Parliament is stuffed with Remainers and they are suffering collective amnesia on what was said in the Referendum.

Boris Johnson
2016: "A door has magically opened in our lives. We can see the sunlit meadows beyond."
Boris Johnson today
2018: "I don't want anybody to panic during the meltdown"
For clarity, these are Boris Johnson's words certainly copied from somewhere else ...they are not mine

DG, you cut the Boris quote too short. Here’s what he said:
Quote:
You’ve got to face the fact there may now be a meltdown. OK? I don’t want anybody to panic during the meltdown. No panic. Pro bono publico, no bloody panic. It’s going to be all right in the end.
I’m not sure when “the end” will be, but I suppose he meant to say that in the long run we’re all dead.MY91 110 CSW, so long ago I can barely remember it - sold

You couldn’t make this stuff up.
Not long ago, a Government would have fallen on their sword for 1% of the fiasco they have displayed.
Are we getting more tolerant or just totally unconcerned and unconnected with the democratic process?
One thinge for sure, we are a joke with just about every other country in the world.

And this whole fiasco was to appease a small but vocal minority in the Tory party.
Knowing what we know know as we go through the process, hand on heart, do leavers really believe that people would still vote to leave?

Cameron was to blame for not thinking he could loose the vote and consequently not having a contingency plan, then bailing out. He put us in the brown stuff, then ran away.
A combination of factors then led to the Pinky and Perky show we have today.
No one voted for the screw up that presently exists, but it’s no good people saying we should have a rerun of the vote. You concede that then you set a dangerous president when ever you have a referendum with a result some people object to.
We should however get ourselves out of the EU a lot quicker and with less complications than we seem to be doing, but with the present Government, that’s not going to happen.

I would suggest the Bregret is to do with the way the Government and Parliament are handling this, not Brexit itself.
The 'meltdown' is the undoubted mess in the handling of the negotiations.
This whole current fiasco is the result of "trying to appease a small but vocal minority in the Tory party"...the hardline Europhiles who would side with Labour and the SNP rather than carry out the decision of the referendum and the promise of the manifesto on which they stood.Black 05 TDV6 HSE Auto

Yes - and the process is merely confirming why!
