Farmer Chalk- Have a good Auto A/C specialist replace the rear pipes with plastic ones. A member near me had a mobile guy do it for him on his D3 and the cost was very reasonable.
BTW, the same thing happened to my D3 under extended warranty and was refused. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE
2010 D4 HSE (A bit bling)-GONE
2014 D4 HSE (Almost too bling)-GONE
2015 D4 HSE (A heated what?)-GONE
2016 D4 Landmark (Written Off)-GONE
2016 D4 Landmark (Surely the last!) PD1881 rims-GONE

Hi farmer
Blimey , sometimes I think they make the figures up
Dealer quoted me £500 plus £100 for diagnostics to replace a door lock
£600 for basic service and £360 for wheel alignment

You guys are absolutely awesome ! Thanks chaps!
Spoke to the dealer and given them the status... if you can’t wangle the warranty company then i’m Having the car back!
Think the betting is on me collecting the car in the morning and sweating my testicles off trying to do the conversion!
Thanks again guys! You are the best!

On a long haul today I must have seen about half a dozen D3/4s and RRSs with windowns down driving at speed, or stuck in traffic. No way would they choose to do that as it was 33 - 35c when stuck in traffic on the M25. I found 19 either side was just nice, with the fan high enough to cool and low enough not to be intrusive. I even found parts of the steering wheel we’re getting too cold to hold comfortably.
Not that that is going to help.

Unfortunately I only have one more left in the fridge. But there is a cheeky little bottle of VC blanco in there, purely for emergencies.

Sat in Saunsburys carpark today for 1/2 an hour and was amazed at the amount of cars driving around with windows open, some quite recent stuff as well.
Back of my house was 39c today mid afternoon, so sat in a non a/c in box moving slowly coulnt have been a lot of fun

I remember that as a kid. Getting out of a chilled Granada into 30 degs.
I guess with climate control most of us aren't so chilled these days

Generally any part that has seals under pressure during its working life should be changed regardless of what they look like as good practice. Nothing worse than doing all that work to find the o ring leaking. They go through a lot of temperature stress. I couldn’t get any locally so went to Bearmach. Genuine only for them and about 6-8 quid each !Jarrod
Current : D3 2007 HSE - AKA the lemon
-beanie grille
-detango with led bulbs
-club body off rebuild. TWICE.

Just ordered mine from AF and asked if new O rings were provided with the Bearmach condenser.
I'll have it on Monday and will let you know. The workshop manual say disscard / renew the O rings.
