Hi DM
Blimey knew that quote was shall I say slightly steep , would have thought a job like that would be £300 tops
Local dealer now charge £180 an hour , they quoted me £500 for a door lock and £100 for diagnostics
Cost me £60 for the lock and done the job myself

Quick update with mine....
As expected the official Land Rover Extended Warranty ( total example of an oxymoron if there was one) has determined that my rear pipes had corroded and therefore the warranty is null and void..
I obviously challenged this as nowhere in the terms and conditions does it say it won’t cover it through corrosion... their reply was the t’s and c’s state ‘discolouration alteration and deforming of parts due to aging’. It makes a total mockery of any warranty when they start being colourful with their interpretation...as the old adage states it’s not worth the paper it’s written on!
Somewhat annoying as this is the exact reason I spend an absolute fortune on an official OEM warranty in the first place...
What the latest feedback from the warranty company is that it is a design fault....the pipe has allegedly failed due to water being retained in the sponge insulation covering!
Anyway the short story is the dealer wants £1100 (plus vat) to replace the aircon lines as standard or to bypass it and fit the short section £700!
An email complaint has gone in but I anticipate it being a waste of time... the likely result is I will pick my car up without working aircon and I won’t be renewing any warranty with Land Rover Extended Warraties!
My rear a/c pipe had corroded where there was no insulation, in fact it was pretty much right next to the join.
New rear a/c pipe was 150 quid from l/rover
Still working fine 3.5 yrs later

No O rings in the aftermarket condenser.
I've also returned it as I wasnt happy with the twist in the unit (about 30 to 40mm) and the angle of the pipe connectors to the unit (over 90degrees). Plus the bottom pipe looked too crimped on the bend to my liking although I appreciate it's a gas!
Ordered an LR one so hoping this will be better! O rings on the shelf.

Mine a V8 so a different condenser.
I'm within a stone's throw of the LR dealer within Southampton and have a good rapport with the guys (less so with the sales side) so they give me a trade discount. So it cost me £205 inc VAT.

LR condenser is true and straight. Connector block is 90 degrees and bottom pipe is "correct".
Connector block also has a dowel pin locator. No O rings though or on the shelf so now ordered!(£9!)

Job for the weekend if I get some time.
I've already changed all the belts / pulley etc so have already had the fan off. Hoping its fairly straight forward but probably not. No gas in the system. However it looks restrictive.
DM is probably best to advise and then I'll x3 for us amateurs!
