Auto gearbox help please ,lost all drive

Thank you for your question and honestly I can not tell whether the gear box I bought is faulty or not since I got it from the local market and removed from a parked car. In fact mine lost all drive again then I decided to replace it and it started displaying F and lost the power until it stops moving. when replacing the gear box with the used one ,my dicso3 displayed when ignition on F automatically then I asked the guy to do the coding but in vain. Finally I told him to use the one(megatronic) from my old gearbox then all was fine but when driving up to 3 gear F comes back and losses of power and now it is even getting worst 40km/h. when I restart the car it goes and comes back. Really I will need your inputs this disco 3 is my favorite car and Kindly advise

With the second-hand box, did anybody remove the valve block like one of the pictures shows. If so when putting it back they must watch that the arm fits into the linkage properly.

Kindly can you share that particular picture showing the right place then I can give the right answer on
this and on top of that the linkage stick skipped form the cable recently and we had to fix with the wire.

If your old gearbox/megatronics unit did not have this 3rd gear problem, then likely it is the fault of the replacement gearbox.

Do you have a new codes?

Maybe you can find someone local who is knowledgeable to take both gearbox apart and make one good one? or maybe new parts too ZF gearboxes are used in lots of cars. BMW, VW, jag etc. so this may help find someone who had knowledge

Still have issues with my disco 3. Transmission fault with F displayed and the scanner has given the follow fault codes which I'm sharing with you. Kindly let me know if I can buy the brand new mechatronic unit for my disco

Hallo Derrick.

Kindly if your mechanics are not good you will end up spending a lot of money buying unnecessary expensive parts. Mine has developed the F and E Faults twice, and it's been resolved by cleaning fuses, relays, and earth points in the engine bay and also cleaning the gearbox connector. Please take time to first find knowledgeable mechanics with a good diagnosis tool.

Thank you brother for your input. Unfortunately no good Technician car in my town (Goma). I wish to take it to Kampala but it loosing power when transmission fault is displayed.
