strange air suspension behaviour |
|
Hi guys,
I just bought a 2007 Disco3 with only 94000km from the first owner and I'm very happy with it but...
The car sits down after 24hrs.
I read some topics already so proceded as folows to determine the fault:
Put it on level surface, pumped up suspension and pulled the fuses.
Next day only the rear dropped so I thought defective rear valve.
Cleaned it, I saw that the O-rings were more square than round and thougt that my action would probably only make things worse. put it together anyways, pumped it up, test without fuse and to my surprise it stayed up perfectly for 48 hours. Put the fuse back, drove it, no problems for two days and than it started lowering again overnights.
Test again on level surface pulled the fuses: now only right rear went down!
Soaped the lines and rear suspension :no leaks
Changed the rear valve block for a new one and tested again first without fuse : stays up perfectly, than with fuse : stays up perfectly. I'm happy again, but again: too early!
Drive for two days and it lowers aigain overnight.
Test again on level surface pulled the fuses: Now only LEFT rear went down...
So now I really don't know what to do.
Is there a scan tool than can pinpoint the exact problem or has anyone some other kind of advice how to tackle this?
Thanks.

OK, thanks I’ll do that later on, but I’m puzzle by the fact that first both rear sides go down, after cleaning the valve block only right rear goes down and after changing the valve block the left rear goes down...

I found the seals but not the actual valve seats wich are pretty marked in my valve.
Anybody know if/where I can find those?
Thanks.

Soaped left suspension wich was ok.
It was the new valve block that was leaking... (yes, the Alibaba kind).
Think I will order the seal kit for the original valve block and try that one again.
Thank you for your help Pete.

I put in a new rear valve block and it's fine now.
My friend has a 2005 disco that lowers over night. When we pull the fuse it stays up perfectly!
Anybody has a clue what that might be?
How often does the car level itself on unlevel surface?
And what is it's reference, what if the surface is too steep to level?
A lot of questions...
Kind regards
