What did you sell to buy your Discovery 3? |
|
I sold a Discovery 2 V8. The D2 was an expensive beast to run and maintain. It cost me thousands in repairs over its life, but it was great to drive. I hope this will be better, but at least I have a warranty now!

Hi I ran a X5 30d sport and then exchanged it for the new X3 30 sport but it was just no good so when i test drove the d3 it had everything i wanted from a car. I scuba dive in the uk during the spring/summer and spend my winters in switzerland so 4x4 is a must, ohh and 7 seats is great for getting the wife to drop me and the boys at the pub.

PerS - I would be too. But those prices are terrible. I paid C$67,000 plus tax for my HSE/5. That has the 4.4l V8. Total price including all taxes and delivery is C$80k, which is about UKL 35,000.

Not exactly selling one... |
|
.... I am handing one back to the company and taking an allowance.
I currently have a BMW 330ci Convertible, which has been lots of fun, but it is too cramped in the back.
Was all set to purchase the new BMW 535d Sport - until I saw a D3 on the road.
I still cannot quite explain why I want this 3 ton monster - I just do!
Should arrive in June and if I am extremely lucky it will have the factory Bluetooth PTI.

Martin,
Did the same as you... Audi A4 2.5TDi Quattro (180bhp) returned as company car. Wanted to stop being fleeced by the UK Gov. Now I have the D3 and I am actually better off claiming the mileage and using the cash allowance !
30MPG is great ! Probably better than your Bimmer.
You'll be the envy of the other company car drones too !
Make sure you tell the tax office. They will adjust your code for the remainder of your tax year from the date you hand the keys back on your company car.

I traded in my Ranger Rover HSE. The dealer said (he would!) that lots of people are trading RR to the new Disco - he wondered how LR are going to justify the price differential when (according to him) the Disco is a better car and more versatile than the RR. It certainly drivers better. BTW I noticed three X5 trade-in's in the car park.

I sold my Seat Leon Cupra R for the Disco.
It was a 280bhp 300ftlb 1.8 Turbo engine which did 0-60 in about 5.5 seconds and would top 160mph.
Yes I loved it and yes I regret selling it everytime I need some extra power ....... but I love the Disco for very different reasons
Cheers
Marc Disco 3 now gone!!
Discovery 3 S spec 2.7 V6 Diesel.
Previous Car to D3: Seat Leon Cupra R with a nice 280 bhp...... Sad to see it go

Hello
My mother sold our old Discovery3 LE (170,000 miles and no problems) for our Java Black/Alpacca Disco3. We have had it since November 9 and have almost 10,000 miles on it already. We truly love every bit of it aside from its few quirks. ~~~Our Vehicles~~~~

we have two other cars, 2000 Audi A4Q and 95 BMW M3. I love my M3, so the Audi may be history, but it's great fun in Alaskan snow and ice. Alaska-Land of the Midnight Sun, 95lbs salmon, and some of the best backcountry skiing in the world. Come visit soon
